Asset Register & IT Review

Most small organisations don’t have a clear picture of the technology they rely on every day — what devices they have, how old they are, or whether they’re still fit for purpose.

An Asset & Equipment Review provides a clear, practical overview of your existing IT setup, helping you understand what you own, what condition it’s in, and where potential risks or future costs may exist.

This isn’t about selling replacements. It’s about clarity and planning.

What this review covers

Depending on your setup, an Asset & Equipment Review may include:

  • A list of computers, laptops, and other key devices in use
  • Basic information such as age, operating system, and general condition
  • Identification of outdated or unsupported equipment
  • Noting devices that are critical to your day-to-day work
  • Highlighting single points of failure (for example, “if this fails, everything stops”)

Where appropriate, I can also help document where important data is stored — locally, in the cloud, or both — so nothing important is forgotten.

What you get out of it

After the review, you’ll have:

  • A clearer understanding of what technology you actually rely on
  • Visibility of ageing or higher-risk equipment
  • Better confidence when planning upgrades or replacements
  • Fewer surprises when something eventually fails

There’s no obligation to replace anything. If equipment is still doing its job reliably, I’ll say so.

Who this is useful for

This type of review is particularly helpful if you:

  • Haven’t reviewed your IT setup for several years
  • Have grown gradually without a clear plan
  • Rely on a small number of devices to run your business
  • Want to reduce risk without overinvesting

If you’re unsure whether this would be useful for your situation, I’m happy to talk it through before anything is booked.
